As our name suggests, our musical tastes are anything but one-dimensional. We blend dance-worthy R&B, funk, soul, disco, rock and pop classics into high-energy performances that keep audiences singing, dancing and coming back for more.

From neighborhood dive bars and street festivals to concert venues, weddings, corporate events and private celebrations, we create memorable experiences built around great music, good times and upbeat vibes.

With a repertoire of 100+ songs spanning more than six hours of live music, every performance is thoughtfully tailored to the room, the crowd and the occasion.

Johnny

Johnny Gorman is Polyjamorous' drummer, founder, and band leader. Raised in Detroit on a steady diet of Motown, he began playing in bands at just 12 years old and has spent decades performing and leading live groups. After moving to Washington, DC in 1989, Johnny built a successful career in politics and healthcare before turning his focus back to the stage. Today, he leads Polyjamorous with the energy, precision, and passion that have defined his lifelong love of live music.

Jamey

Jamey is Polyjamorous' rhythm guitarist and a proud DMV native. His musical roots trace back to Washington's legendary punk scene, where bands like Fugazi and Government Issue inspired his early passion for live performance. A lifelong musician, entrepreneur, and father of two, Jamey brings steady rhythm, creative energy, and decades of experience to every show.

Paul

Paul is one of Polyjamorous' guitarists, bringing decades of musicianship shaped by a childhood spent moving from Seattle to New Jersey before settling in the DMV. Inspired by seeing Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead perform live, he knew guitar was his calling. A former management consultant turned fitness professional and personal trainer, Paul brings versatility, experience, and tasteful guitar work that keeps every performance moving.

Dan

Dan is Polyjamorous' pianist and keyboardist, bringing a lifetime of professional performance and musical direction to the band. He began playing piano at 14 years old and has since built an accomplished career that includes serving as a music director, earning 1st Place in a Ragtime Piano Competition and 3rd Place in an International Jerry Lee Lewis Tribute Contest, sharing the stage with members of the Jerry Lee Lewis Band, performing with Jack Scott, appearing on The Mitch Albom Show, and opening for Clint Black at Pine Knob. He also tours the Midwest with Journey and Bob Seger tribute bands. Within Polyjamorous, Dan helps shape the band's overall sound—refining arrangements, tempos, harmonies, and musical precision to deliver polished, high-energy performances.

Miles is Polyjamorous' bassist, born and raised throughout the DMV with a lifelong passion for groove. Inspired by Flea, Victor Wooten, and the classic records his father played at home, he picked up the bass at 15 and never looked back. In soul and funk, the bass is the heartbeat that drives the groove and gets audiences moving. A tech entrepreneur and devoted live music fan, Miles brings deep pocket, feel, and positive energy to Polyjamorous' sound.

Emmanuel is one of Polyjamorous' lead vocalists, whose love of music began while singing in church with his grandmother in South Carolina. Influenced by Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, D'Angelo, Lauryn Hill, and Erykah Badu, he brings heartfelt soul and authenticity to every performance. Offstage, he runs Sage Serenity, a home care business devoted to enriching seniors' lives. Onstage, audiences can expect powerful vocals, genuine emotion, and unforgettable energy.

Celi is one of Polyjamorous' lead vocalists and a lifelong creative. Raised on everything from Celia Cruz, Afro-Latin jazz, and salsa to soul, funk, and R&B, her musical influences span cultures and generations. A former salsa dancer and performer, and a passionate designer, she brings expressive stage presence, vibrant energy, and a genuine love of connecting with audiences through music.
